Instagram inspiration for November from the Amara #IBA18

How is it November already? I’ve missed most of my goals for this last quarter of the year and there really isn’t much I can do about that now, as before you know it’ll be Christmas and New Year. Saying that though it’s been an epic year for me and Hello Peagreen, with winning the Best Written Blog at the Amara Interior Blog Awards and a Top 5 placing in the Designhounds 2019 interiors influencers. I’m so over the moon for the recognition that these awards bring which I wrote about here. Which is why this month my Instagram inspiration for November is from the Amara Interior Blog Awards. From the winners to the shortlisted bloggers there is a wealth of visually interesting interiors related feeds to take a look at. If you want to take a look at previous Instagram accounts I’ve thought inspiring take a look here.Instagram inspiration for November, Amara blog awards 2018, best written blog, hello peagreen

If you love a bit of an edgy industrial/warehouse vibe take a look at Warehouse Home who won Best Company Blog at the Amara Interior Blog Awards. I love this pivot door so much, shame it wouldn’t work in a Victorian Terrace house though. Their feed is peppered with gorgeous industrial buildings and wonderful examples of warehouse living.

In complete contrast, Tamsyn Morgans of  The Villa on Mount Pleasant who won the Best Photography category creates the most amazing floral filled vignettes. Her seasonal home and impressive floral styled props set a whimsical, magical air.

Evening all, how are we? I gave my cupboard a makeover for my monthly feature in the brand new issue of @reclaimmag, the theme is modern chintz so I went full floral using thrifted prints and teacups 🌸 . I have mentioned this a lot in my stories recently so apologies if you’ve already heard this and already follow Amanda, but I need to share it again. If you are looking for ways to lead a more sustainable lifestyle, please go and follow Amanda @small_sustainable_steps. She was one of the very first people I followed on Instagram due to a mutual love of vintage, but Amanda is trying to lead a life with as minimal waste as possible, and shares practical tips on how to try to use less. Less plastic, less chemicals, less stuff that we don’t need…it’s a learning curve for her too and she freely admits she’s not perfect, but she’s trying, and I’ve been really inspired by Amanda this year. And it goes without saying that if we don’t try to take steps to reduce our consumption of everything…well…it’s going to be pretty terrifying. If you follow anyone who gives really useful, practical tips on being greener and wasting less, please share them below💚 (I’m particularly interested in beauty brands with green/non plastic packaging pls 👍🏻) Also, (last request I promise 😂) I’m fresh out of exciting, lovely new hashtags. I’m recycling the same ones over and over. So please leave your fave new tags in the comments! Thank you 💕✨ . #stilllifegallery #asecondofwhimsey #chintz #alltheprettyflorals #tamsynsgreencupboard #underthefloralspell #mymagicalmorning #foreverfaffing #nestsndflourish #curated_nature #myfloraldays #justalittlewhimsey #mybloominglens #flowersgivemepower #seekinspirecreate #moodforfloral #flowersandotherstories #flowerstalking #flowerfriday #botanicalart #flowerseverywhere #petalsandprops #floral_secrets #shabbychicstyle #vintagehome #howivintage #cornersofmyhome #thriftedhome #thrifteddecor

A little over a week ago, our team member, Marli, had a beautiful baby girl who she named Mila. The morning before the little cherub arrived earthside, Charly and I were at Marli's downtown apartment to help her pull the room together. We finished the room in record time and Marli even managed to shoot and edit the images that same day! We absolutely love the result of this team effort and you can see the full reveal on www.houseofhawkes.com, where I've also put together a 'shop the look' for this budget friendly nursery. BRR! It’s freezing! ❄️ This is probably the last time I can get away with posting this picture in my oh-so-summery outfit. Time to dig out the jumpers and socks 😳 I’m rather strict about putting on the heating – so me and the dog tend to cuddle hot water bottles from now until the end of May to save money on the heating bills. Are you the same? Also, can I ask – I’m looking for some new hashtags to follow – fashion ones, interior and fun, random ones. Can you help with suggestions? I want to mix up my news feed a bit. Have a great Tuesday x • • • • • • #mycreativeinterior #mybohoabode #cljsquad #ecclectichomemix #newinteriorsontheblock #lovetohome #interiormilk #colourmyhome #habitatandhome#howimonochrome #bohemianmodern #interiorandhome #lovetohome #myecclecticmix #mydecorvibe #designsponge #howistylemyhome #modernrustic #kitchenideas #housebeautiful #wardrobewinner #kichenmakeover #brightonfashion #myhouselikethis #smallkitchens #smallkitchen #patternedtiles #flooringideas #kitchenstyle #sodomino

I remember pulling out all the screws and the extra handrail on the left hand side of this staircase with my mum the day after we moved in, my dad pulling out the huge air conditioning unit, Chris scraping off the wallpaper and the night I attempted to paint the stairs grey temporarily but promptly came across woodworm. I remember the builders replastering as I lay in bed hiding with horrendous morning sickness, then putting the radiators back on the day I came home from hospital with Peggy, Chris’s mum sanding and prepping the walls and Chris painting whilst I fed our new baby, trapped in the living room. Two years later, a lot of teamwork and we are finally getting the stairs finished – we’re nearly there! #TheFrugalityHouse

⚡THE WIDE SHOT⚡ A better view of our work-in-progress lounge with 2 new additions. Luxury pillow goodness gifted from @wesley_barrell_furniture thanks to my #homedesignbloggers meetup last week. And finally, a mirror! Bought for a bargainous £83 from @wayfairuk – and a fab alternative to the Insta-famous Patsy mirror from Habitat. If you need me whilst the heatwave continues, this is where you can find me hibernating 🤘 . . . #myhomeintechnicolour #howihue #makeyousmilestyle #myhousethismonth #myhomevibe #colourmyhome #colourmysummer #decorstylefiles #ibas18 #nbas18 #weblognorth #designupnorth #interiorsblogger #colourfulinteriors #myhshome #brightboldhome #interiorboom #suyhome #myperiodhomestyle #ikeaatmine #myhometrend #styleithappy

Best Colour Inspiration is courtesy of Karen from Well I Guess this is Growing Up, who won the UK category. Her colourful choices aren’t just limited to her living room and that rather fabulous wallpaper from The Loft and Us. Also nominated for the Colour Inspiration award were Lucy Loves Ya, Pencil Shavings Studio, The Decorologist and Graphic Fantastique

Happy weekend! I’ve been ticking along this week but have had a funny old cold so bring on no school runs. Although I am about to go and stand by a field for 90 minutes for a girls footy match. Anyway, next week I’m starting work on a really interesting interiors project for someone. I can’t wait. In other news … I’ve gone and bought another two doggy plates for the wall. Can you figure which they are? Can’t believe it’s one whole week since I was enjoying the wonderful hospitality of @victoria_albert_baths @at_the_chapel in Bruton. Gorgeous as it was, I am now most definitely on catch up as a result and have a to do list as long as my arm today. If you haven’t read my Halloween party blogpost go and have a read, it includes a list of reasons why pumpkin painting is the way forward…another one is that it’s a lot quicker if any of you haven’t got round to doing yours yet 😉 Link in bio. . . . . #bathroomgoals #bathroominspo #bathroomdesign #bathroomdecor #dreambathroom #bathroomremodel #bertandmay #apartmenttherapy #designsponge #inmydomaine #interiormilk #interior_delux #abmathome #interiorinspirasjon #styleitdark #blackbathroom #ihavethisthingwithtiles #ihavethisthingwithhome #interiørbutikk #goldisaneutral #brassdecor #howyouhome #cornerofmyhome #dslooking #interior444 #interior4all #blackbathroom #myfabhome

Through those doors from the last post you step into this hall. Around that corner on the left is an incredible fireplace, those Edwardians knew what they were doing right? This hall was built for parties, dancing and Christmas!!!! There’s a blog post about the transformation of this room, I’ll pop the link in the bio.
