For anyone doing the chasing the follower’s thing on Instagram, it can be frustrating, particularly when you see accounts with huge follower numbers. Yet, the growth is very very slow these days especially if you were late to the platform like me. It takes a huge amount of effort it feels to get likes and growth and can be a real time suck. Which I think is a crying shame as I used to find the platform so enticing, but when something feels like a chore, it kind of takes the love out of it. So why bother? And that is a great question. These days almost the first thing I get asked about by PR’s and even magazines I write for – is how many followers do you have on Instagram? It’s seen as a simplistic litmus test of your taste, your “influence” and your tribe. Which is all types of crazy really when you think about it. There is though a wonderfully creative and talented group of accounts in the sub 10,000 followers range. These are people who haven’t bought followers to bump them over the elusive 10k threshold, they are dedicated to showing great interiors – most often their own homes, and they also engage with commenters. The only downside is you can’t swipe up to see their latest posts on IGStories. This month I’m going to share the love and highlight 10 Instagram Interiors accounts to watch with less than 10k followers. All of these accounts work tirelessly on their feeds, with beautiful photography and have a passion for the interiors world – so please pop by and show them some love. I’d also be grateful to know of anyone else you think I should be following in this category too, so let me know in the comments below!
