Well, the year is off to a flying start already. I’m barely back from Oman, and I’m about to head to Florida to the Kitchen and Bathroom International Show (KBIS) which I am very excited about. This year I’ll be taking part once again in the #take12trips challenge although it will definitely be a mixture of work and pleasure this year. Trips locked and loaded include Orlando, Paris, Milan, Venice, Lisbon, Zurich and South of France, I’m still researching a few trips for the end of 2018, but it’s looking to be a good year for travel. With this in mind, I’m starting a new monthly series about Instagram accounts I follow or am inspired by giving a shout out to those creators that bring visual joy into my feed. At this stage, I’m planning that each month will feature a different niche, as well as covering large and small accounts that giving me the Instagram feels. If you think there is someone great I ought to know about please do drop me a line in the comments or send me an email so that I can include them in my new Instagram series . Let’s see if I can keep this up until the end of the year and not let it fizzle out……. oppps. So for January I’m sharing some travel inspiration from interior designers and stylists who have a keen eye for pursuing pretty found through the Instagram platform. So here we go here’s my new Instagram series for 2018.
Not strictly an interior designer (oh dear I’m not getting off to a good start am I?) but Dabito features travel, restaurants and hotels in his glorious colourful feed. Dabito is a photographer and art director and has a fondness for eye-catching arrangements – don’t we all? His colourful snaps of destinations make me want to book another trip. He is an Instagram influencer that’s right up my street.
The family and I are heading on vacation as we speak! We’re driving to South Lake Tahoe (hello @coachmanhotel 👏🏻) and from there we will be in Orange County, San Francisco, Northern California, Pacific City Oregon, Lincoln City Oregon and then ending in Bend Oregon. We will be traveling for two weeks and documenting our lodging, fave food spots and probably some #vacationlatenightwithshane on Insta stories. Follow along, and peace out✌🏼!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️
Kirsten Grove of Simply Grove is an interior stylist, designer and the author of Simply Styling. Her vacation locations are always lust-worthy and have impeccable styling, with plenty of elements you’ll want to recreate in your own home. Fire pit anyone?
A strong new Instagram series contender is the Dutch edition of Elle Decoration has me hooked anyway, but when they post travel pictures like the one above, I get a little giddy. They have a particular love of colour and pared back form, but they know how to wow with a travel shot. It’s a shame that my Ibiza days are behind me really.
Gabriella Khali has a passion for interiors and set up her studio after studying at Sotheby’s in London. Her journal, previously called Flat 15 was a multi award-winning blog. Travelling frequently she stays at some remarkable laidback and often bohemian hotels around the world.
Interior designer, traveller and creator of Return on Interiors. I met Kathleen DiPaolo in NYC on a blog tour in 2015 since then she’s lived in Delhi in India for two years. Her Instagram is peppered with wonderful images from her travels around the country.
It’s still cold and dreary here, so I’m thinking back to sunnier times in Puglia last year. I need to get some more travels planned as I have nothing in the diary for the first time in a while. I’m thinking about a couple of city breaks with fiends, and Chris and I still haven’t managed to have a proper honeymoon even though we’ve been married for almost a year. And of course I can never stay away from Scandinavia for long!
The minimal feed of Bristol-based interior stylist, writer and blogger Abi Dare of These Four Walls Blog is always a calm and soothing affair. She’s shared some wanderlust-inducing pictures of her travels in Scandinavia and Italy and has lived in Paris and Barcelona.
Cate St Hill has a dachshund, and therefore you should follow her, she’s also a very talented interiors writer and stylist. Her pale minimal feed is styled to perfection, and occasionally you’ll get glimpses of her travels all captured in her ubiquitous style.
Syd and I are heading to the Hamptons this weekend for a little getaway! We’re staying in Montauk, but plan to explore all over…give me your recommendations!!! We decided to do a quick trip before we install a room for a cool project with @real_simple in Brooklyn. See what I’m packing and more on this week’s #thesunday7. PS. Wish we were staying in this incredible house by @sawyerberson. ❤️
Studio McGee has a beautiful interiors feed showing their own design work, which has a contemporary country look, with a little touch of rustic. They also have a thing for shingle clad houses that might just make you want to up sticks and move stateside.
