Don’t be blue – Decorex 2015

September is a busy month of shows, fairs and the London Design Festival. I’ve been busy, hopping from show to show and plan to show you some of the lovely new products I’ve seen along the way. On Monday I visited Decorex at Syon Park. I realised I first went to Decorex 10 years ago – my first interior design focused show. It’s a bit of a milestone really, as it helped me refocus my career in a different direction, interior design. This year Decorex saw an assortment of British and international home furnishing and fabric manufacturers and designers bring their new wares to a discerning crowd. To whet your appetite here’s a quick look at the always beautiful Ochre stand – that inky blue teal colour is to die for especially with the tangerine colours in the velvet and horsehair chaise. The seed lighting is, of course, the show stopper.

Do you have a favourite interiors show? I find its interesting how they change over time and how one might be a favourite and then another. What I can’t decide is whether that’s about our personal tastes changing or whether it is about the trade shows change in focus? I know that as my knowledge of products and brands has grown, my preferred style has ebbed and flowed. It’s different when I’m working on a client project obviously, as that’s about helping them distil their style.

I first posted about Decorex here in 2014, yet I’d been going since the mid 2000’s. I always find it quite funny looking back on what I blogged about back in 2010-2012. Anyway I digress, I’m going to be posting on Instagram while I’m at Decorex for Modenus and obviously on my own account, so please do keep an eye open here. I’ll show you my favourites and the highlights in the next week or so.
