Chaos and Control {white rooms}

Do you ever feel like your life gets a little out of control? Maybe it’s not enough hours in the day or that chaos has taken over your life? Sometimes it’s simply that its not going the way it should?  It’s at these times I find myself focusing in on calm zen-like spaces. Minimalist white cubes where thoughts are orderly and serene…. Well that’s what I like to think anyway and I certainly find looking at rooms like the below very calming – even if its only temporarily.

I lived in a “white box” for a while. It was all white because it suited the buildings Grade II architecture and the huge windows (one whole wall of the living room) – it was a mid-century gem by Sir Denys Lasdun. However I did struggle with keeping everything out of the way and chaos was overtaken by obsession instead! But even so, when times are a little too frantic I find the viewing of simple white interiors brings calmness.

The zen space above by SAMI-arquitectos is also A+ rated in terms of energy efficiency. To see more images of House C:Z visit Daily Icon here

The above gorgeous calm space is by the architecture practice ASKarchitects in the landmark Piraeus building in Athens. The historic features are still visible even though the building has been “whited out”. To see more images click here

    I'm not really a big fan of white interiors but that kitchen is stunning. So clean and tidy and shiny!

    Your site looks lovely btw!
