At home with Abigail Ahern

Before Christmas I enjoyed a fantastically informative day with the lovely, eclectic and very stylish Abigail Ahern. I attended one of her workshops and was blown away by her generosity of knowledge.   You’ve probably seen the fantastic pictures that the Selby shot of her home but it really doesn’t compare with getting up close and personal with it – and being able to ask where the specific shade of purple/plum come from!

I completely agree with Abigail’s mantra “painting a space a different hue is one of the most transformative things you can do “. Plus it’s cheap!

Her dogs Mungo and Maud were clearly at home on her dark and moody scheme. And I came away with some useful thoughts on how to vary the intensity of colour and bring a little more quirkiness/humour to interiors. Here are some of the pictures Abigail graciously allowed me to take in her home.

Oh wow! I'm a teeny tiny bit jealous (in a good way) that you attended one of her workshops and were invited into her house. Absolutely love her style! So far I've only painted accents walls and a small hallway dark but looking at the pictures I'm tempted to do more painting…

I love that she's accessorised her house with her neon pink jeans! I adore her for all her mismatch craziness. Such a breath of fresh air from all the all white skandy interiors that seem to be the only thing we're allowed to have xx

I've always been a big fan of Abigail's style (wanted to buy her whole shop last time I vistited London!) Thanks for sharing another glimpse!
