Timeout Tuesday – Are you a bag fiend?

I can appreciate a well designed bag as well as the next (wo)man but I have a small stable of well traveled and much loved bags. I’m not obsessed with collecting, nor am I one of those who cannot pass up the opportunity to put my name on a list for a new design. I do however like to fling a fantastic leather concoction over my shoulder and admire, possibly in a mirror BUT for me comfort and practicality rule the day – yes I know BORING.

Saying all of that though, I really do appreciate fine craftsmanship and glorious design. Bernard Arnault (chairman and chief executive of LVMH) has revived Parisian trunk-maker Moynat into a modern luxury goods house. Founded in 1849, Moynat is five years older than Louis Vuitton and was best known for its lightweight, waterproof trunks for automobiles.

Now under the design influence of Creative director Ramesh Nair the company is producing again the most fantastic leather creations. The new collection is small but it packs a mighty punch. I audibly gasped when I saw these beauties. I want the burnt orange one…. oh and a stack of the vintage trunks too please

I'm so addicted to bags! As you may have seen in this weekend's 10 things the latest suspect was a leather briefcase from Topman – couldn't resist! šŸ˜‰

Those are lovely! And yes I like the burnt orange one too. I love the vintage trunk wall in LV in Bond Street. Wouldn't it be amazing to have a collection of those?
