London Design Festival – Shoreditch

The Shoreditch Design Triangle will be taking place again as part of the London Design Festival. I know I’ll be heading back to my old neighbourhood for this fantastic event bringing together local galleries, shops, studios, cafés and bars.

From light installations on Liverpool Street and a pop-up bar on Redchurch Street plus Luna & Curious will be showcasing furniture and products designed and made in Britain – there should be something for everyone.  On Tuesday 20th September most locations will be staying open late and hosting an array of special launches, parties and workshops.

Also in the area Tent London opens on the 22nd September where you’ll find unique product designs and launches from over 200 international design companies. This year Tent London will also include two new features; Tent Loves, a series of thought-provoking installations using different materials and Sussed: A collection of sustainable innovations featuring the latest eco developments.

Another not to be missed show is Origin in a purpose-built pavilion in Old Spitalfields Market (22-28 September 2011) presenting over 200 makers in ceramics, furniture, metalwork, paper and glass, to fashion accessories, jewellery, woven plastics, textiles and knitwear.  At Origin you can buy the beautiful high quality products that you see.  This years see the introduction of the new Lux Craft space specifically designed to showcase lighting installations by the worldʼs finest crafts makers.
