Spires, stained glass windows and stonework

This weekend I took inspiration from the lovely Andy Marshall who is not only a talented architectural photographer but has a very keen interest in the architectural heritage of churches.  Below are the photographs I took of the medieval church St. Mary’s in Bacton Suffolk, which has a beautiful double hammer beam roof.

I hope Andy will be able to give me some pointers for the future, as I’m not sure I did this church justice although these pictures will undoubtedly provide invaluable inspiration.

The stained glass windows produced some beautiful dappled effects on the wall.

St.Mary’s is currently having renovation works and I was quite taken with the traditional construction of the new oak balcony.
