INSTAGRAM: in-between seasons and in-between weather

Friday, 29 April 2016

It's that time of year when you think its warmer than it is and its easy to get caught out. While officially it's spring, there are definitely days when it doesn't feel like it.

These unpredictable days have me pouring over instagram in search of glorious outdoor vista's and have me adding to my travel bucket list. So for your delight here are some of my favourites.

Elsewhere last month: Stockholm Furniture Fair

Thursday, 28 April 2016

Did you catch my piece about Stockholm Furniture fair over on Modenus? It already seems a lifetime ago that I made that furious but fun filled dash around the Stockholm Furniture fair. I had some real firm favourites including pretty much everything on the Friends & Founders stand (below image).

I can't wait to get another fix of Scandinavian design when I head to Copenhagen this weekend. So keep your eyes peeled for my favourite finds.

You can find my article for Modenus here.

Elsewhere last week: Don't forget your walking shoes

Monday, 25 April 2016

For the wonderful team at Caro Communications I pulled together a highlights of Milan article for them to share with their clients and followers. As I'd previously mentioned here, comfy shoes were a must at Milan.

You can find the piece I wrote for them here which includes the below which was one of my favourite pieces from Milan, Knoll Diamond chair in gold by Harry Bertoia (image Knoll)

Dispatches from Venice and Milan

Monday, 18 April 2016

I’m missing Italy and I have so much to share in the coming weeks. Both Venice and Milan had a lot to offer on the interiors and design agenda.  I’ve walked almost 140,000 steps – which is 60 miles – and I’ve taken 3000+ photo’s. It’s been a wonderful design adventure where I was fortunate enough to see some truly tremendous things and meet some remarkable people.
Milan design week was bigger and better than I imagined and I barely scratched the surface. There was a huge selection of interior and product design across the city in a series of events and that’s without the fantastic 2016 edition of Salone del Mobile.

Despatches from Milan Design Week

Wednesday, 6 April 2016

I'm so excited to say that I will be heading to Italy for Salone del Mobile on Saturday. Visiting Salone has been a long held ambition of mine and I can't wait for the biggest Design Week for furniture, d├ęcor, kitchens, bathrooms, lighting and not forgetting design installations.
Similar to London Design Week, the Milan exhibitions are all over the city but anchored by Salone. To say it's going to be epic is a little bit of an understatement. More than an estimated 350,000 people descend on Milan for this particular design extravaganza.  Paris Maison & Objet (twice yearly design fair) is practically a walk in the park compared to the 20+ halls at the yearly Salone del Mobile and the associated Satellite exhibitions and design hubs.
