Spotted at Decorex 2014

Tuesday, 23 September 2014

More wildlife than you could shake a stick at and I’m not talking about the abundance of crane flies (well it is essentially in a field). Once again Decorex proved it could pull in a crowd. Whilst the Syon Park location meant an adjusted transport requirement (thank you to my lovely friend Stuart for driving me) it also meant far more exhibitors. I walked, I talked and I stalked. I photographed and took business cards and I could have gone back for a second day but alas my diary did not permit it. So what was catching my eye…..

#LDF14 – Decorex and 100% Design

Wednesday, 17 September 2014

I’m hoping that some new products will excite me at LDF this year.  In the mail shots I've received in the run up to the exhibitions these are some of the things catching my eye.

Front’s rug collections by Jan Kath and Michaela Schleypen at Decorex especially the erased heritage which uses traditional Persian designs with distressed effects.
Harlequin London will present glass company Lobmeyr's 'Ripple' lighting set, which I’m looking forward to seeing in the flesh. It made a statement at Saloni this year. The pieces work together to form a moving light resembling a ripple.

Pinch are launching new products during London Design Festival at 100% Design and Decorex and I have my eye on these two.

#LDF14 - will you be there?

Tuesday, 16 September 2014

It’s that time of year again when London turns crazy for design… I think London’s crazy for design all the time but it up’s the ante in September every year for London Design Festival. If you’ve lost track with what's on, here’s a few not to miss:

Top Drawer       14th -16th September
Home                 14th -16th September
100% Design     17th-20th September
Tent                     18th-21st September
Super Brands     18th-21st September
Design Junction  18th-21st September
Decorex              21-24th September
Focus                  21-24th September

I’m hoping to get along to several happening during the festival. Including the place called home installation which is this years London Design Festival Landmark Project in Trafalgar Square  I’ll also be at the #tweetup at 100% Design where I’ll get to see the new product launches and meet designers at Decode (stand L122), Case Furniture (L112), Barnby and Day (L326), Pinch (L220) and Young & Norgate (L120). If you want to take part you could also have the chance to *WIN* a Halcyon lamp by Anthony Dickens for Decode and a Cross side table by Matthew Hilton for Case Furniture.  All you need to do is Instagram your favourite design finds from the participating British design stands using #interiorstweetup for entry in the giveaway. The winner will be announced via Twitter at the end of the tweet-up.
