Street Art in Brighton {colour & interiors}

Wednesday, 4 July 2012

Something I love about Brighton is the way the city has embraced street art. There really are some fantastic examples dotted throughout the city. North Laine is definitely worth a mooch around and the New England Quarter hoardings regularly change.  I noticed some time ago the beautification of the humble telephone exchange box and couldn’t help but capture some of them.  I particularly like those by REQ whose style is spraypaint realism.
I’ve always thought it would be fun to have the front of house transformed for the Brighton Festival (every year in May) but maybe a more accessible way to get street art into my home would be to customise some furniture.  Or maybe buy into the movement via Jimmy Martin

Would you be brave enough? I came across this fantastic piece of graffiti in an interior via a Danish website. The apartment is simple but with iconic design pieces. The artwork does the talking here, realism of the panther is what I find so striking.
